Just as the snow in the UK melts...

Two of the UK's most intrepid long distance winter athletes are currently competing in temperatures as low as -45 degrees.C with Exposure Lights. Alan Sheldon and Andy Heading are pitting themselves against Sled Dog teams in one of the world's most fearsome winter races, the Yukon Arctic Challenge. Alan is racing on a specially prepared snow bike while Andy is on foot with snow shoes fand will be covering just short of 430 miles in their race. Not for the feint hearted, they are no strangers to the conditions, both having been victorious in the widely known Idita-Sport race. The Yukon Challenge is earlier, colder and with more unpredictable weather so requires special preparation and equipment. Working closely with Alan and Andy, Exposure have made them custom head torch versions of the Joystick MaXx-2. Running a cable from the head unit to separate battery and control unit means they can keep the Li-Ion battery warm inside their clothing for better performance. LEDs like running cold so will love the exposure to the super sub-zero temperatures. Exposure's piggyback battery system allows Alan and Andy to travel with minimum weight and ultimate burn times, expecting to spend many nights in the race between any opportunity for re-charging. It is expected that these head torches will form the basis of a new product category for Exposure next winter with requests already present from many Adventure Racing teams and outdoors enthusiasts.
